The video for the marvelous track finally came out, keeping the theme of the song, which is based on a short story called ‘The Veldt’ or ‘The World That the Children Made’ by Ray Bradbury. The clip follows the story, as we see the characters of the two kids and the lions, however we don’t see the inside of the house or the parents in the video.

Basically what the story consists of is a family living in a house with all the latest technology, featuring a ‘nursery’, a virtual reality that can communicate with the kids through telepathy. However their parents start to worry about their style of life and the fact that the virtual reality is always set in an African setting (which we see in the video). Seeking help, they decide to leave the house, but the children are very reluctant to leave, and convince the parents to let them use the ‘nursery’ one last time. When the parents come to fetch them in the nursery, the kids lock them inside with the lions, and the parents are eaten (the claw marks on the door near the end of the video). The children knew that the only way they could stay in their nursery was if they got rid of the parents…
What I really wonder is why Deadmau5 decided to pay a tribute to this story, makes me wonder what significance this particular story had to him. I guess we’ll never know…
Sorry ’bout the long text, but thought you might wanna know, cause when you know about the story you hear the song differently
